Modern Slavery Statement
Croydon Movers Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Croydon Movers in relation to the financial year ending 31 December and sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our operations and supply chains. Croydon Movers is a professional moving and relocation business, and we recognise our responsibility to uphold the highest standards of ethical conduct and human rights wherever we operate.
Our Commitment and Zero-Tolerance Policy
Croydon Movers adopts a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour and any form of exploitation. We are committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships, and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place in our own business or in any of our supply chains.
All employees, agency workers, contractors and suppliers are expected to share this commitment. Any breach of this policy by an employee may result in disciplinary action, up to and including dismissal. Any supplier found to be involved in modern slavery or failing to meet our standards may have their contract reviewed, suspended or terminated.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Our operations primarily involve domestic and commercial removals, packing, storage, logistics coordination and associated support services. Our supply chains include vehicle and equipment providers, packing material manufacturers, storage and warehouse partners, uniform suppliers, facilities management services and various professional and consultancy services.
We recognise that some areas of our supply chain could present a higher risk of labour exploitation, particularly where manual work, subcontracted labour, or international sourcing is involved. We therefore focus our due diligence and monitoring on these higher-risk areas.
Supplier Standards and Audit Processes
We require our key suppliers and service partners to adhere to our ethical standards and to comply with all applicable labour, employment and human rights laws. Our supplier approval and onboarding processes include an assessment of labour practices, health and safety, and the use of subcontractors.
Where appropriate, we conduct supplier audits, either directly or through competent third parties. These audits may include site visits, management interviews, workforce interviews, and reviews of employment records and policies. We expect full cooperation during audits and transparent access to relevant documentation.
If we identify any non-compliance or potential risk indicators, we will work with the supplier on a clear corrective action plan with defined timelines. Where serious or repeated breaches occur, we reserve the right to suspend or end the business relationship.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Croydon Movers encourages everyone connected with our business, including employees, agency workers, suppliers and subcontractors, to report any concerns about modern slavery, human trafficking or unethical labour practices. Concerns can be raised through internal management channels, in writing to senior management, or via our established whistleblowing procedure.
Reports can be made confidentially, and we do not tolerate any form of victimisation or retaliation against individuals who raise concerns in good faith. All allegations will be taken seriously, investigated promptly and handled with appropriate sensitivity and discretion. Where necessary, we will cooperate with law enforcement and relevant authorities.
Training and Awareness
We are committed to increasing awareness of modern slavery risks across our organisation. Relevant managers and staff receive guidance on recognising signs of exploitation, understanding our reporting channels, and following our procedures when concerns arise. Training and communication are reviewed periodically to ensure they remain effective and proportionate to our risk profile.
Monitoring, Governance and Annual Review
Responsibility for overseeing this Modern Slavery Statement and our related policies sits with the senior management team of Croydon Movers. Modern slavery risks, incidents and actions are reviewed on a regular basis and reported to leadership as part of our governance and risk management processes.
This Statement and the measures described within it are reviewed at least annually. As part of this review, we evaluate the effectiveness of our controls, the adequacy of supplier due diligence, and the outcomes of any reports or investigations. Where necessary, we update our policies, training, supplier requirements and audit practices to strengthen our response.
This Modern Slavery Statement has been approved by the leadership of Croydon Movers and will be updated and published each financial year to reflect our ongoing commitment to combating modern slavery and human trafficking.
